Citi - Let’s Get It Done
Citigroup recently rebranded themselves to focus on the theme of helping make dreams realities. Their advertisement is emotionally charged and reflects some of the major financial milestones in life:
- Buy that house
- Merge that company
- Start that business
- Send her to college
- Build a fortune
- Take your business global
- Plan for the future
A company such as Citi certainly has the products, expertise, and resources to help individuals with all these things. While the commercial is probably only meant to invoke emotions around the big picture, there isn’t an easy way to inter-connect all these milestones. And in my opinion, no top-down consolidation or integration of financial services companies will help bring it all together, at least in the foreseeable future.
