About Me
My name is Atul Patel. I work on digital advertising in various capacities and at several companies. Display ads, video ads, mobile ads, you name it. However, most of my energy is going into ThirdPop, a mobile messaging ad network, and Vidshadow, a digital video platform for content syndication and monetization. I dabble in quite a few other areas such as display advertising, lead generation, and vertical monetization through several companies such as CPM Advisors, InsideUp, BankAround, LoanGenie, and others.
I was formerly a big business guy, and worked at Ernst & Young and Countrywide Financial. I loved it that if you put in a little bit extra effort and time than others, you were rewarded. But then I got bite by the startup bug when I co-founded LeadROI, a web-based lead management and generation company. LeadROI was acquired by a lead exchange, Root Markets, a company founded by Seth Goldstein and backed by Lewis Ranieri, the father of the mortgage-backed-securities market. Since, LeadROI was resold to MediaWhiz Holdings.
Thank goodness that my lovely wife, Jolly, likes the fact that I’m usually engrossed doing work or surfing the web because I leave her alone. But, when I’m not online doing that, I’m biking, hiking, and running, reading magazines, driving in traffic, and hanging out in OC and LA with Jolly and our friends.
I was born and raised in Orange County, CA. I went to school at UCLA, where I studied economics and computing. I love it in Southern California, but that might be because I don’t know any better.
